Over the next few days, I used the Zata for different types of fishing – from casting near shore to fishing in deeper waters. The reel’s smoothness really stood out. The 10 + 1 stainless steel bearings made every turn feel effortless, and I noticed the line coming in quickly thanks to the 7.1:1 gear ratio. It was easy to adjust the Infini brake system to suit the conditions, whether I was casting light lures or heavier baits. I didn’t experience any snags or hesitation, which gave me confidence during each fishing trip.

Key Features in Action

The recovery rate of 31 inches per crank was noticeable, especially when I needed to bring in a fish quickly. The graphite frame felt sturdy yet lightweight, so I didn’t get tired holding it for hours. One feature I really appreciated was the Duragear brass gear – it felt solid and durable during use, and I could tell this reel was built to last. The Infini brake system was easy to fine-tune, allowing me to control the spool speed perfectly and avoid line twists or backlash. These features made my fishing experience smoother and more enjoyable.

After several weeks of regular use, the Abu Garcia Zata still performed like new. The smooth operation didn’t wear down, and the reel showed no signs of rust or damage, even after fishing in different weather conditions.
